Aliko Songolo participates in Tripartite Iniative

Aliko Songolo, Halverson-Bascom Professor of French and Professor of African Languages and Literature at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studies the influence of African American culture and literature on Franco-African writing and culture from 1930 to 1960. He recently gave two lectures at the Université of Gaston Berger de Saint Louis (UGB) and collaborated with university leaders to propose a draft for collaboration among three universities on scholarly projects. Professor Songolo has been appointed as point coordinator for a tripartite collaboration between Aix-Marseille Université (AMU), University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW), and Université Gaston Berger de Saint Louis (UGB). This Partnership provides the three universities, which are on different continents, to collaborate on publications that identifyAfrican American contributions to African and Caribbean cultures. The new tripartite alliance is planning on having their first session next year in Marseille.
