FIeld of study: Sociology

Length of stay: 9 months

Project Summary: My project investigates the formation of social networks that transition new areas of inquiry from ideas to institutions. In particular, I will study the emergence of neurology in France during the second half of the 19th century, in order to ascertain why certain medical researchers formed relationships with each other and if there was a sequencing to these relationships that helped to institutionalize neurology. During my Fulbright tenure, I will gather the relevant information from archives located in Paris.
