The publishing house l'Harmattan has awarded a Prix Scientifique to Clara Romani, Fulbright advanced student at CY Cergy University for her masters thesis on the Franciscan abbess Colette Corbie (1381-1447).
A remarkable figure of the 15th century Church, Colette Corbie is the first woman to undertake a reform of a monastic order--24 houses in France, Burgundy and the Low Countries. Clara Romani studied Colette's correspondence in archival material to discover the mechanisms that allowed her to succeed in her reform project.
Publication by l'Harmattan is expect in 2023.
