Fulbright France IEA Seminar 2024 in Caen (14 representatives from American universities)
The 2024 delegation of 14 Americans from the Fulbright International Education Administrators (FIEA) program began their discovery of the French ecosystem with a three-day visit to Caen and its higher education and research institutions:
- the US delegation was welcomed by the Presidency of the University of Caen, followed by a tour of its various facilities: the CEMU, the CIREVE, the CYCERON laboratory & the Dôme de Caen (Fablab)
- the delegation also visited the ENSICAEN engineering school
- the École de Management de Normandie (EM Business School)
- and discovered the Large National Heavy Ion Accelerator (GANIL).
The visit was also marked by the signing of a partnership agreement with the Normandy Region, which will support research mobility programs (hosting US researchers in Normandy & mobility of Normandy researchers and PhD students to the US).
Also, our 14 American higher education administrators visited 3 emblematic D-Day sites: Normandy American Cemetery, Omaha Beach and the Pointe du Hoc Memorial, while the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings was celebrated in June 2024.
Many thanks to the representatives of these Normandy institutions for their warm welcome and all the information shared with the 2024 Fulbright International Education Administrators (IEA) Program delegation!
