Joshua Barbre, US Fulbright France 2023/24 grantee, was invited last Friday to the Closing Reception of the Next Level Artist Residency organized by the US Embassy in Paris!
As part of Next Level France 2024, American Hip Hop artists: Def-i (MC), Ken Fury (Dancer), Danielle Mastrion (Aerosol Artist), and Amore Querida (DJ) traveled to France to perform for audiences and collaborate with local artists to promote cross-cultural creative exchange and conflict transformation.
Next Level's motto: "Building Global Community through Hip Hop Culture”.
Joshua (Fulbright Doctoral Candidate), whose research theme in France is: "The Gold Medal Standard: How Breaking in the 2024 Olympic Games Impacts Sports and Hip-Hop" also had the honor of meeting: Ms Denise Bauer, US Ambassador to France & Mr Michael Turner, Cultural Counselor at the US Embassy.
