An Evening at the Franco-American Commission: The American Revolution, Europe, and the World
On October 15, 2026, the Franco-American Commission – Fulbright France was delighted to host a reception on the occasion of the international conference “The American Revolution, Europe, and the World / La Révolution américaine, l’Europe et le monde,” organized as part of ANR America2026 and led by Bertrand Van Ruymbeke, Professor of American Civilization and member of the American Philosophical Society.
The evening opened with welcome remarks by Darragh Paradiso, Minister Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in France, Martine Roussel, Executive Director of the Franco-American Commission – Fulbright France, and Bertrand Van Ruymbeke.
Following a full day of conference sessions, the reception offered participants an opportunity to continue their conversations in a more informal setting and to connect with members of the wider Franco-American and international academic community.
We were particularly pleased to welcome many Fulbrighters among the guests, including French, European, and Japanese grantees and alumni, making the evening a wonderful opportunity to bring together different members of the international Fulbright community.
The Franco-American Commission warmly thanks Bertrand Van Ruymbeke, the conference organizers, and all the guests who joined us for this evening of conversation and exchange !
