From Fulbright to Global Pathways: A New Program in Vichy

13/02/2026 - Alumni: events, publications and thesis defence

We are pleased to share an article on the launch of Global Language & Culture in Vichy, a new two-week study abroad program developed by Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education & Human Development.

The program was conceived by Dr. Mary L. Churchill, Fulbright International Education Administrators alumna. It was during her 2022 Fulbright experience in France that she was introduced to CAVILAM – Alliance Française in Vichy, a connection that later inspired the creation of this immersive initiative.

This winter, the first cohort of undergraduate and graduate students traveled to Vichy for intensive French language study, cultural immersion, and a comparative exploration of the French education system, including visits to local schools and the development of research projects.

This program beautifully illustrates how a Fulbright experience can lead to lasting partnerships and open new international pathways for students.
